PDA Software that interfaces with Sage Master Builder

For some time now, contractors have sought an effective way to integrate Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) devices into their everyday operations. We have been able to bring Microsoft Outlook data into our PDAs for a while now, but we are all looking for ways to use PDAs more frequently and effectively.

Recently, Accu-Tech Systems released a program that permits the user to record employee time and equipment usage time by job and cost code in their PDA. This data can then be automatically downloaded and synchronized into Sage Master Builder, either to Daily Payroll Entry or Daily Field Reports. Users of the Daily Field Report module can also record subcontractor activity on a job. The downloaded data is then easily available for payroll and equipment cost entries.

Accu-Tech's program mJobTime7 is available for both major PDA platforms, Palm OS and MS Pocket PC. Both platforms can coexist within a Master Builder company, so existing investments in PDAs may not need to be discarded. The software currently costs about $360 per unit, including an annual support and maintenance contract. Significant discounts are available for 5 or more users.
