Walt Mathieson is a native of the Metropolitan Washington, DC area. He received a Bachelor of Science, with High Honors, in Accounting from the University of Maryland in College Park. Part of his education was financed by working in a local public accounting firm. After graduation he became a Certified Public Accountant and worked for ten years with local, regional and national public accounting firms. His clientele included real estate developers, homebuilders, property managers, manufacturers, medical professionals, not-for-profit organizations and retailers.

For the next 18 years, Walt was the principal accounting, finance, information systems and administrative officer for organizations in the construction, contracting, homebuilding, real estate development, property management and building services industries. He created accounting departments "from the ground up." He is an effective supervisor and trainer of staff. Walt has significant experience purchasing and administering property and casualty insurance and employee benefit programs. He was a major contributor to the design, development, implementation and documentation of a unique franchising system for building services contracting operations.

Walt created and managed information systems using many different platforms, including minicomputers, service bureaus, personal computers, peer-to-peer local area networks and client-server networks. He uses his significant skill with MS Excel to develop project feasibility studies, cash flow projections and profitability analyses. Walt designed and, with the help of contract programmers, developed proprietary custom software packages to manage and control building services and construction operations.

As a Sage Master Builder Certified Consultant, Walt has aided a number of clients in the construction industry with their implementation of Sage Master Builder. He has developed a special expertise in custom form design of purchase orders, subcontracts, proposals and invoices to tailor these documents to his clients' specific needs. Walt holds Advanced Certifications in Estimating, Report Writer, Project Management and Service Receivables.
