Gerry Mathieson grew up in Hammond, Indiana, but resided in the Metropolitan Washington, DC area for over twenty-five years. She received a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Criminal Justice and Telecommunications from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. After graduation, she worked in office administration and residential property management before becoming the firm accountant for a fast growing regional public accounting firm.

For the next 24 years, Gerry worked off and on for this regional public accounting firm, taking breaks to have and raise a family. During her work in public accounting, Gerry worked with their small business practice team and an audit team specializing in construction and cost certifications. She became valued as a preparer of payroll tax and personal property tax returns. Gerry also provided implementation assistance to small clients looking to set up accounting and bookkeeping systems using generic software.

Gerry is certified as a Construction Industry Technician by the National Association of Women in Construction, having completed a rigorous course of study and passing a comprehensive examination in construction industry issues.

As a Sage Master Builder Certified Consultant, Gerry has aided a number of clients in the construction industry with their implementation of Sage Master Builder. She has focused primarily on using her experience in public accounting to assist clients with their accounting and payroll issues.
